University of Louisville places second in NASA’s 2013 USLI rocket launch competition, Hart County 4-H Team places seventh in the 2013 TARC rocket contest, and Kentucky high school teams find success in the Wing Design Competition.
Recent flight competitions show that Kentucky students studying science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) are nationally competitive and that Kentucky universities are producing successful rocket scientists and aerospace engineers.
This was the second year in a row the UL team has finished near the top of NASA’s university rocket challenge, earning them recognition for their impressive talent and teamwork.
NASA Kentucky is proud to have sponsored teams in the USLI and TARC rocket launch contests and to have supported the UK College of Engineering and KIAE in sponsorship of the Wing Design Competition.
Opportunities like these, including student internships and team projects, are available through the NASA Kentucky programs. NASA Kentucky partners with more than a dozen Kentucky university, industry, and non-profit affiliates to support the work of faculty in aerospace programs and major research initiatives within the state.
